New Tales of the Great Wall

At this time, there was a kind dragon called King. He lived in a big big beautiful
ace nearby a yellow river. He was brave and his heart was bold. People loved him
helped them and protected them. But his world didn’t stay in peace. Some people
were bad, greedy and evil.

One day, another dragon came to China from the west. This dragon was evil and he wanted to eat
all the people in China. The evil dragon flew around the sky, around around and around – he was
looking for some delicious and fat humans. Of course, when the people saw a dragon flying around
them they saw that it wasn’t King. They were frightened. People screamed and ran, hiding in their
houses. Some of them even packed up their things and were ready to leave their town.
The Chan family was so frightened that they went to the palace to ask King for help. When they
entered the gallant palace, they found King in his room. They told King the whole story.
Mrs. Chan said, “King, you must help us!” And she started to cry.
“
What happened?” King replied, so worried.
A man said, “An evil dragon came here from the west. He wants to eat all of us!”
King frowned. He was a bit worried because he didn’t want anybody to die or get hurt. He loved
his people very much. King went out of the palace, saw the evil dragon flying through the sky. King
flew up and he caught the evil dragon’s tail. The evil dragon was very angry. He hit King and King fell
down. The evil dragon stepped on King’s tummy and ordered King to listen to him. “In two months, I
will be waiting for you right here. We have to duel. If you hit me down, I will let all your people go,
but if you lose the competition, you and your friends, families and all the people in China are going to
be eaten by me. Wahaha Wakaka! So see you later, loser!” the evil dragon flew away.
The people were worried. They were scared that King would not hit the evil dragon down.
When that day came, people became nervous. They were afraid they would all killed by the evil
dragon. King was worried, too. He did exercises every day to make himself stronger.
Two dragons arrived at the competition place. The battle began. The evil dragon first kicked King’s
tummy, and King fell down. The floor was quaking because King was huge. However, King stood up
and kicked at the evil dragon’s feet but he didn’t fell down. He looked at King playfully and said,
“
King, what a powerful name, but you are just my opponent! So if you want to quit this war, beg me
and maybe I will let you and some of your friends die last!”
Surely King would say no to this “great suggestion”. King then used his tail to attack the evil
dragon, making him fall down and bleed! The evil dragon attacked King with his sharp paws! They
were both bleeding! The evil dragon kicked King’s tummy again, and again and again. King was
bleeding very much but he still hit back.
The evil dragon became so mad that he threw King away with all his energy. King landed one
plateau and died. However, King’s tail kept growing longer and longer. It wound up and down across
the grassland and deserts. It changed into rocks, stones and bricks. King’s tail became a great long wall.
The evil dragon realized that King loved his people so much, he let them go and flew away.
So, King changed his own body to a wall to protect us, that is the reason why the people lived
happily ever after.
